Rachel Olzer is a cycling advocate and the co-founder of Pedal 2 the People, which started as an Instagram account and has grown into a fully-fledged community dedicated to improving representation, especially in the bike world. Rachel gave us her thoughts on how the stories we tell about people and places shape perception and expectations, and why changing those stories can help mountain biking and cycling seem more open to Black, Indigenous and People of Color.
She is also a I'm a PhD candidate in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Minnesota.
This is event is FREE TO ALL, but we're accepting donations for the Lees-McRae College CRANK Crew, a student organization that focuses on community, riding, advocacy, and knowledge. The donations from this event will help fund local youth cycling initiatives put on by CRANK Crew students.
