ABOUT ABOUT

Join our talented Lees-McRae Climbing Coach, Carter Smith, for an exciting day spent bouldering in one of the region's most renowned areas, Grandmother Mountain! Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that is performed on small rock formations without the use of ropes or harnesses. This historic and popular location is loaded with beautiful boulders to suit any climber. Grandmother Mountain is full of some of the best stone in the Southeast and is located in a stunningly beautiful and cool sub-alpine forest!  Open to students, faculty, and staff. All equipment included. Snacks provided. Participants will need to provide a packed lunch or additional snacks and a water bottle. Participants will also need to indicate their transportation preferences. There are limited spots in the Outdoor Programs van that will be issued on a first-come-first-serve basis.  We prefer that students drive themselves or carpool with their roommates/friends. Extended COVID regulations will be practiced. Please bring your own face covering.
