Hosted by the Stephenson Center for Appalachia, and as part of the Appalachian Heritage Week, students are invited to bike the 18-mile Virginia Creeper Trail from Whitetop to Damascus, Virginia on Saturday, April 13. The cost is $20 and participation is limited to 12 students. Fees cover bike and helmet rental, and shuttle from Whitetop to Damascus. The ride is almost entirely downhill and is expected to take about two hours.
Students will meet in front of the Cannon Student Center at 8:20 a.m. and depart at 8:30 a.m. All participants must ride the bus with the group, and are not allowed to bring personal bicycles. Lunch will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring a backpack with a water bottle and snacks if desired.
